FunkMMA Power 21 Circuit #1 (Video)
This week I posted a strength workout that focuses on helping you increasing your power and explosive strength. Unlike traditional weight training exercises that isolate muscle groups, this workout trains your muscles to work together as one kinetic chain.
Its explosive power that will make the difference with aspects like take downs and defending them, throws, striking and grappling on the mat. Harnessing your power and training the body to move as one will give you the edge and help you to dominate your opponent.
As an MMA athlete it is important to include one strength training session per week that will help build your explosive power and strength.
This circuit includes 3 exercises combined together to make for one giant set to help you develop your explosive power.
Complete 3-5 rounds of this 3 exercise circuit with no rest in between. After a round of 21 total reps, rest 2-5 minutes (complete recovery) and repeat another round.
Deadlift-Burpees – 7 reps
Barbell Jump Squats – 7 reps
Pull Ups – 7 reps
