Marcelo Garcia, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Fabio Gurgel of the Alliance team, is one of the most prolific brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioners ever. Marcelo has secured 5 world championships under his belt as well as 3 Abu Dhabi Submission Grappling (2003, 2005 and 2007) titles. He placed 3rd in 2005 and 2nd in 2007 for the Absolute division and was awarded the most technical fighter in 2003 and 2007. He now manages his own academy, Studio X – Alliance NY, in New York City.
