Integrating the Olympic Lifts in Your MMA Conditioning Program with EricWongMMA

Have you ever wondered what makes an athlete powerful and explosive? One of the quickest ways to build explosive power is by implementing Olympic Lifts into your training.

I have always wanted to master olympic lifting techniques and think it’s an amazing training technique that will increase your overall strength very fast.

Today’s post and video is by Eric Wong, coach to UFC fighters like Claude Patrick,Mark Bocek and UFC-vet Jeff Joslin. Eric is going to share some general principles about using the Olympic lifts and how to properly integrate them into your workout program.

I am very excited to share this with you and get some one on one training with EricWongMMA.

In general, the more technical the lift, the lower the # of reps you perform.

For example, the full Squat Snatch is the most technical of the lifts, so I would generally stick to 2-3 reps when working it.

For a Hang Power Clean, it’s less technical; I’d go right up to 6-8 reps max.

Remember – these are just general guidelines, you have to train according to your goals, but if you’re interested in developing strength and power like an Olympic Weightlifter, these guidelines will serve you well.
